For editors who need money, I highly recommend writing very focused how-to books.

With my collection of ebooks, the "fluffy" titles tend to sell very slowly. For example my medieval romances, being fiction, sell slowly.

However, I am selling 150 copies a week - on Kindle alone - of my no-cook cookbook. I'm selling it at 99 cents to get high sales, so that's $50 a week income just for that one cookbook.

All the recipes are on my low carb site. So this is a compilation of my recipes and articles. People don't mind that at all. I'm sure many readers are ones who found my website, liked my content, and therefore bought my ebook for easy reference. My website provides the free marketing.

I highly recommend writing a block of how-to articles on a specific topic. Then compile it into an ebook with a clear how-to title. People buy ebooks to solve a problem. Figure out what problem you can help with, then provide the steps to solve it.

Let me know if you have questions!

I have 2 in mind for the career training site. One is for 1st time supervisors. The other is for college students working their first job. Those are the 2 in my plan book. I started the outline, and hope to move along on them both this year. (it's a 2012 goal).

hmm. Lisa, I wonder if i reviewed your microwave book, it would better the sales? I know the no-cook one has some reviews. That must be a help.

Dianne - those are awesome topics for ebooks! Both would definitely meet a "pressing need" that people would go looking for books to solve.

Dear Jilly - It's very sweet of you but having a review seems to have no impact at all on the sales ratio smile I am seeing this exact same ratio on other sites that have no review options at all. So I think people simply crave the no-cook one.

Of course I will always gladly take reviews anyway!

I searched for "low carb" on my kindle and my book came up as the #1 result, so that's pretty cool! That must then get a lot of people to come to my site here, to learn more about my content. So it's free marketing.

Now that the "must eat more healthy!" resolution month of January has passed, the cookbook sales have reduced a little, but are still doing well. Here is the breakdown of sales for the past two weeks. They're all listed at 99 cents except Champagne Cocktails for $3.99 and First Two Weeks at $9.99 - both are higher just for comparison purposes. I want to see how sales are affected.

It seems that the 99 cent price really gets far more sales. That is, I get so many more sales at 99 cents that I make more money overall.

I ran a 5 day free promotion for Knowing Yourself so those aren't all sales. That large boost then helped boost sales for my other books, so it was free marketing.

Let me know if you have any questions!

I have trouble coming up with how-to topics in my area. Funny how you can help others quicker than you can help yourself. lol

How to grow herbs inside your home.
How to learn from past historical events.
How to cook with herbs.
How to design an historical costume.
