i was not allowed to buy this blue and ORANGE betta at petco yesterday...he was the most gorgeous thing!! i have never seen one that color in my life. it was a very peachy orange...no spots of red ANYWHERE...but he was really really young. he was a typical VT, and parts of his tail were missing...but i think it was just due to a fight or something. most of the bettas at petco look like that...
i had my boyfriend come in to look at him and he was like "aww hes cute. youre not getting him."
2 is enough?! what planet does he live on!

im thinking of going back to get him...but i dont know if hes really that rare and if i should. one time i saw a purple and yellow one there and didnt get him...i regretted that for a long time...

if anyone is interested in him, i will go back and see if he is still there. im sure that if im not keeping him, i can at least give him a nice home until he has a permanent one...

He's your boyfriend...not your husband...LOL !! Might as well find out now how compatable this guy is with your hobby...

I saw some similar ones at a PetCo a few weeks back myself. I too was impressed with the coloring, but didn't buy one..lol..I have a few more than just 2 bettas... There were two of them there and thier fins were a very pretty peachy pinkish sort of color..hard to describe..with very pretty blue bodies.

Sthenn, that betta sounded so pretty I went to my local shops looking for that combination..I also am keep to find a nice copper like Emgs...but sadly, all i found were the sickest little bettas i ever saw in walmart, all half dead with fungus dripping off their bodies. I quess they are too busy right now to change their water. bummer...

Did you go back for the betta? I think you need more bettas, girl!

Gee Jilly, wish I had picked up that other one that was at the store when I got mine...lol..they were both very pretty, I had a hard time deciding. I imagine those aren't a very common petstore color betta. Mostly I just see alot of blues and reds or a combination of both those colors.

I did see a white betta with copper color splashes on his body and clear fins once...didn't bring that one home either...(like I really needed to..lol)...but sometimes I wish I had...(DOH! what is wrong with me! )

I can see I need to get one of those super betta berricks going in my basement..then I could have LOTS and LOTS MORE !! There would be NOTHING stopping me from picking up the latest beauty I find on my regular LFS rounds !! :rolling: :rolling: :rolling: :rolling:

yep, i think you need a betta barracks. it's time! With a nice constant flow-thru system so they have clean water every minute.

I'm not worried, a copper one will come along..

I saw a pretty little girl with a yellow body and green fins I am thinking about...BTW

Lol Jilly....so true...so true....

But...it is easier to do when you have lots of bettas than when you only have 2. Those who aren't smitten with the betta probably can't tell them apart...so when you have 10+ of the widdle darlins they woudn't notice a few more additions here and there. But if you only have 2...well, one more is a bit more noticable...lol

So BG...solution to your problem is to have more than..say...7. That way Mr "Sorry no more fish" is less likely to notice one little addition. The trick is to get up to 7 without him noticing..lol

If you ever figure out how to do that...do share...I am sure there are plenty who come here that are in your same perdicament.
