Do you think the movies will be as good as the books?

I liked the first movie but didn't love it. it was more of a downer than the book, which was down enough but at least had many more bright spots.

Hmmm...makes me think I should wait until it is on DVD instead of paying full price. I have the book, but haven't read it yet. It seems people at work either loved it or thought it was just so-so (the movie, not the book).
Thanks Jilly!

So I saw the Hunger Games last night and when I can post a review I will (having tech challenges, needless to say it was just a tad depressing to me. I mean WOW watching a bunch of kids kill each other, for whatever reason, was just sickening to my soul. As a film...it had great potential, but had a few too many bumps and gaps in the flow.

I've heard rave reviews from all my friends who have seen it so I'm looking forward to your review Jamise. I will probably wait until the DVD.

The first book had a certain verve that the movie lacked, sadly. I am not sure why they did it like that. At least the first two books had that verve. The third book is better not mentioned.

LOL. I needed to be in a better mood to watch that film. I think that there is so much youth involved violence in the world all ready. Though I did not miss the other social commentary about how the rich mistreat the poor. That was beautifully illustrated in the film. Maybe I should read books 1 and 2 at least.
