I decided a month ago to quit eating meat. I'd done vegetarian meals here and there but just decided it was time to give up meat entirely.
In the past month, I've lost 8 pounds and that was really the only change I made. My husband, who said he would never give up meat, it now willing to try it for a month or so, to see if he can lose weight too.
Has anyone else had this experience?
Hi Joanj, I've been a vegetarian for so long that I don't remember any weightloss behind it, but I've had clients who've lost massive amounts of weight ranging from 50 - 100lbs when they transitioned over to a healthy lifestyle and diet. The key is always going to be the types of vegetarian items you consume on a regular basis, along with what types of inflammatory foods you minimize or eliminate from your diet. These two things make a HUGE difference. This is why you can see vegetarians who've been vegetarian for years who still have weightloss challenges. It's not necessarily a caloric issue per se, but rather an inflammatory issue.
Hope this helps!
