Dr. James Hansen, a renowned NASA scientist, sat in protest of the Keystone Pipeline scheme in August 2011 only to be arrested. The government and NASA attempted to quiet him. Politicians and the oil industry attempted to turn him into a kook. However, this devoted climate scientist, who has conducted climate research for more than 50 years, once again stands before humanity - evidence in hand - to share his findings asking each one of us to listen to his data and think.

Here is why you should listen to what he has to say. How many viable planets are there to sustain life? His findings are not based on personal bias or science fiction. NASA doesn’t hire kooks. What world has been created for offspring in which to survive? Please share this video with everyone.

I look forward to reading your comments.

Become informed. Majorities believe that saltwater and freshwater freeze at the same rate and in the same manner. This is a dangerous misconception.

Although, both fresh and salt waters experience expansion and contraction saltwater does not freeze in the same manner or at the same rate as freshwater. It takes much colder temperatures for longer periods to initiate the process with saltwater. A further complication of the freezing process is that saltwater increases in density as it cools. This means that freezing saltwater actually sinks away and separates from a frozen mass prior to adhesion, resulting in slower ice formation.

The variation discussed by Dr. James Hansen speaks to how increased carbon dioxide (CO2) acts like a blanket that super heats the planet. The use of fossil fuel is the main contributor to increased CO2 rates. As fossil fuel usage increases so does the unnatural warming of the global temperature. This cycle causes accelerated saltwater ice melt off, which in turn further warms the planet. As a result, saltwater is not receiving the necessary temperatures or lengths of time to properly meet the needs of natural saltwater expansion and contraction.

Animal populations are already enduring massive struggles as a result of our fossil fuel consumption. Though they are the frontrunner casualties, they are by no means the last. People fight to protect their families and land. It is time to understand that both of those are directly threatened by the continued use of fossil fuel. We have a collective responsibility to our present global community and future generations. Please take the time to open your mind.
