Hails forest of gems !! smile !!!

Parenting is the cycle of generation -- The Royal Priesthood of Melchizedek who was without father and without mother and without beginning and ending -- is part of the cycle of regeneration. And this planet needs a lot of regeneration.

1 Melchizedek, king of Salem, a priest of God Most High, came to meet Abraham when he returned from defeating the kings, and blessed him;
2 and Abraham gave him a tenth of everything. By the interpretation of his name, he is, first, 'king of saving justice' and also king of Salem, that is, 'king of peace';
3 he has no father, mother or ancestry, and his life has no beginning or ending; he is like the Son of God. He remains a priest for ever.

Unfortunately when people don't really think the entire issue through before bringing children into this world, they can have regrets after the fact. Having babies and kids seems really great when you consider the Kodak moments, but many people don't consider the entire process of raising children before diving in. Once a parent, always a parent, and for 18 years or more it is a full time job. Sad for the innocent kids who never asked to be brought into the world, and now one or both parents regret their existence.

Great post - and so true. Many years ago I had a male friend with similar issues, ie loving his kids ( twins ) but wishing he hadn't had kids.
I've just read a news story about Jenifer Westfelt, and how she didn't think she'd get to her early 40's and not have kids. She says she just never had the strong urge, and her partner also says what a difficult ballance it is to juggle work and parenting.

All very interesting, and I love that these stories are put in the press, to give other young women an alternative to the mesmerising chant of society that ' you must have kids to be a 'normal' member of society.

However...what struck me the most was one of the posts underneath the main story. It read ;

'Think alot before having kids. I have been a mum for a year, and despite loving my baby I had no idea it was going to change my life so much . I am not as maternal as I thought I would be, I miss my freedom, my pre pregnancy body, my relationship with my partner has changed a bit too, and I don't see my friends a lot.
I knew life would be different, I just didn't know HOW different. So just do what is right for you, and be careful what you wish for.'

You could argue that she is in the throes of the first year, and the huge upheaval, but it's very telling.
i hate the fact society tells us what to do,
i agree with you burt - down with this materialistic world run by the rich for the rich.
...i've gone all flower power ! peace man.

Way Cool Gaynor8002 !! smile !!!

Thank You smile

The current civilization is synthetic through and through.

We are wired to help eachother and modern society with all of its success cults is not the way we are meant to live.

The tribal instinct is gone and the warmth of community and assisting eachother in Love.

Without being apocalyptic the old order is passing and the new order of the ages is dawning.

Certain elements must stay through the transition like debit cards, autos, etc.

Yet these can be minimized slowly gradually -- nature will have her perfect work and the only real cataclysm and Armageddon is within the consciousness of each individual.

This guy has his poop together:
