I was made a very happy embroiderer this week, as Kathryn Newell announced tht she has started a website that offers free downloads of her re-productions of historical needlework books.
These are not just re-designs of historcal books. Kathryn has studied the manuscripts and has actually digitally re-charted the designs, so you get clear charts of the original manuscripts.
This is great news as her books are no longer available in print, and although she could have released them as buyable e-books, her enthusiasm and generosity have allowedus to get them free.
As such - I would ask tht if you do download them, PLEASE keep them for personal use only. Do not offer them for download elsewhere unless you gain writen permission from Kathryn. If friends want a copy, please refer them to her site.
You can downloand them all at:
Flowers of the Needle Thank you to Kathryn for offering this wealth of books!
Just out of interst - if you look at the
Assisi Work article, the pattern for the towel I stitched is in the Sibmacher book that Kathryn offers.
Have fun stitching! If you do have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Kathryn. She is extremey knowledgable and very happy to offer assistance.
