Computers seemed like a good idea in the beginning. Now, they have become another addiction. All this social networking does not bring us closer to people. It only increases the distance between us and the paople we care about.

I only disagree because it is hard to keep up long distance in today's world. With the exception of close family how many old friends and distant relatives do we have a quick way to connect with that takes less time than preparing a note for snail mail?

I think as with all technologies, there are many who abuse or become addicted. However, there is also great benefit from the same technologies. I think parents should make sure they teach their children the appropriate use of social networking so that

Computers are awesome and so is the internet (without both you cannot get real news unless you watch Tucker Carlson). Social networking is a good idea but like with everything human beings either create or touch it became idiotic. I am so proud of never been a member of Facebook and Twitter and any of these websites. I did try My Space before it died, I actually liked it but I have to admit I only joined because they provided an email account that did not even work, I left and months later it disappeared (i think it then came back but completely ruined). And to say people are addicts is just as idiotic as the websites, nobody is forced to join any of these websites just like nobody is forced to try any drug and to drink alcohol and do any other things that can make you an addict. And also just because something is called cool and that many people do it does not force you to do it too. I was mocked several times and had a friend pressure me to join Facebook and yet I never did join and I never cared about the mocking just like I was never tempted to join just because billions uses that website.
