Mobile learning (M-learning) has some specific advantages for some students. Large numbers of students today have smart phones, tablets, MP3 players and other devices that allow them to complete learning tasks from wherever they happen to be located.

Mobile Technology in Distance Learning

Do you have a mobile device that you use for learning? If not do you see yourself using them in the future?

I think they would be great for getting a little work done while riding a bus or waiting in a dentist's office. I don't have a smart phone but I have an e-reader and would be able to read some of my textbooks at those times.

I definitely use my smart phone to stay up to date with forum posts when I'm out. That way I can check in on the forums every night and chime in with comments.

It doesn't require any special technology for me - just a web browser that can see the forums.
