What does Mom's use of cell phone teach her children?

Here are my thoughts on the topic:
Teaching Children Cell Phone Etiquette

How do you monitor your own cell phone usage?

I totally agree Lisa, we have to teach by our ACTIONS!!!

My daughter, now 25, the only child I have - will tell you, although I was not perfect - I did try to practice what I was preaching smile

Personally, I HATE cell phones - but realize that they are good to have in case of an emergency.

Great article!

My son is amazed (and NOT asking for one himself) that he is the only one in his fifth grade class (besides one other boy) who does not yet have a cell phone.

Our children today know no other time.

Thank you both.

And, thanks for putting it on your Facebook page, Maria.
That's my goal this year - to get on Facebook. smile

Take a look at this website if you want reasons to convince others to stop talking or texting while driving:

Yep Lisa, too many folks are killing other folks due to texting. Sorry but you have to "look" to text(lol). Now I can deal with the cell phone as you have the "handless" option - still do not like bus drivers using this either as too many folks out there trying to run into the bus. Yep, I PRAY every time I am on the city bus. Hmmmm, makes me wonder if walking would be safer - but then you have to watch out for folks trying to mount the sidewalks with their car from not paying attention. Yikes!

ha! diligence is necessary everywhere.

Our world is a fast world today, and I'm afraid it's not going to slow down any time soon. Hopefully, parents can take a step back and see how their actions impact their children - that we are constant teachers. And, perhaps, we can all learn to slow down a little and focus on modeling strong values for our children!

Hi Lisa:

What I am hoping for personally, is for my daughter to continue what I started. This is what is going to make a difference in future generations. I do not want her kids to go through what I went through - only God kept me from killing myself.

Home should be a place of safety for our kids - and not just physically, but mentally, spiritually and emotionally. Yes, Nicole and myself had our FIGHTS big time, especially that last year of high school - but we made it and now we are best of friends. She is still in Orlando, Florida and missing me big time. The funny part about all this, I had told her when I first met Sylvester 3 years ago that things were going to change. LOL, she did not listen. Oh well, we are making plans to do something "special" soon. Maybe meet halfway between my location (Columbus, Georgia) and hers. It will be a year since I last saw her and we text EVERY day. That is my "best" friend besides my other half. He is an awesome man, but you know what I mean. There is that Ma connection to daughter.

Hugs,
A
