It's that time of year again! Bare root roses are starting to show up in the nurseries here in Southern California. Are they arriving in your part of the country?

This week my article discusses buying healthy bare root roses. Next week, I'll tell you how to plant them once you get them home. Buying Bare Root Roses

Hi Michelle:

I had often wondered about buying these types of roses and have hesitated in the past.

Thanks for the info - much APPRECIATED!

Angela, glad it was helpful! Bare root is the best way to plant roses, though I have also planted them later in the year from containers.

Not just roses, at this time of year you will also find fruit trees bare root, and some other types of trees also. Definitely the best time for planting fruit/nut trees, as well as roses.
