I love German shepherd and Labradors. Both are very sweet dogs and the Labrador are the most friendliest dogs you will ever come across

My favorite is a dachshund. We have a black and red male who is 11 yrs. old. He rules the house! He is stubborn and opinionated just like so many people I know. I wouldn't trade him for anything.

LOL VintageGS, I have a dog (Jack Russell Terrier) that thinks he pays rent in our household, but like you - would not trade him for anything. But he does test my love sometimes and I have to send him to his doggie bed to get my message across. You the dog, and I am the owner (ha, ha)

I think the answer is - whatever we own!!

I know I'm totally guilty of that, lol. I love my Australian cattle dog siblings -- my foot warmers, my pains in the behind, my guard dogs, my best friends. They're so characteristic of the breed and so much more -- and WAY more than we bargained for!

Though I am quietly, discreetly campaigning for adding a pit bull to our pack... I would love another dog, but it would have to be one that can handle the rough play and brute strength of our two teddy-bear-thugs... and I've always loved pit bulls, too =)

Hi Debra:

It is like when we are adding a new baby to our family, it takes a lot of understanding to be able to deal with the possible issue of the older siblings feeling forgotten.

I know our two would have a MAJOR fit if we thought of adding another pet to our household. They already fight over which hand I can use to pet them at the "same time" - no petting individually(lol).

My two are with Sylvester visiting his family in Orlando, Florida - I chose to stay home as I am so not into his family "drama" - he is not either, and I rather he GO see them versus them coming here. MISSING the 3 of them so much, it is not even funny!!!!

It's so true.... making the original animals still feel special while adding a new one to the pack is tough... maybe there's another article in there, too!

We went through that when we added our cat to the mix... fortunately, she came from a hoarder home and was used to other animals and chaos... so her short time there prepared her for cattle dog playmates, lol. It's all about picking the right animals to bring into the fold, I think!

Good for you for not partaking in the family drama - sad that's what holidays seem to be for, rather than enjoying those we really want to be with. At least you can look forward to your pack coming home laugh

Yes there is an article Debra and I cannot wait to read it!

Yes girl, he said they would be home tonight at 7pm EST. Yippee.

LOL, after the 1st night (Friday) of some much needed "me" time - I was missing them. Serves me right for not appreciating them when they are here. And I am going to make sure I let them know how much I am GLAD they are home.
