The Golden Globe nominees were just announced for Best Picture. So far I've only seen 2 of the nominated movies: Hugo (slow-moving, but an artistic masterpiece) and "The Help" (outstanding and inspiring).

Also nominated:
* Adventures of Tin Tin
* The Artist
* The Descendents
* War Horse
* The Ides of March
* Moneyball

Which one is going to win?

Trina I've just borrowed the book War Horse off a colleague as I saw it on her desk. A friend of mine saw the play in London and she was awed by it - the horses on stage were not animals but costumes/huge puppets that had humans in them. She found it incredibly powerful and felt what they'd done in bringing costume/human puppets alive was incredibly realistic and moving.

I'd love to know what you think of the film and this is a great prompt for me to make sure I watch it!

I got all choked up just watching the trailer for War Horse! I'm excited to see it! Steven Spielberg sure knows how to create magic.

The first time I saw the trailer for Adventures of Tin Tin, it took me 20 seconds before I realized it was animation. The animation is amazing and so realistic looking.

The trailer for Moneyball made the movie look so predictable, but I've heard it's suprisingly good....apparently, since it was nominated!

Which of those nominated flicks have YOU seen?

Trina I've just seen the trailer for War Horse which opens here around mid-January. It's definitely on my must watch list - might do a review of it for the English Culture site.
