I couldn't agree more - of course a bar/club environment isn't appropriate for a baby. Some parents, mostly young 'hip' ones, like to think of their infants as small adults who should be accepted wherever adults are accepted. I suppose things like 'routine' and 'bedtime' seem hopelessly old- fashioned and uncool to them.

Years ago I lived close to an English pub where every year on a public holiday in May they held a rock concert in the car park, and I would see young rocker parents holding tiny babies right next to the giant speakers. Those poor kids - the noise must have terrified them, and quite possibly damaged their hearing.

Pity there wasn't a Mr Rollins around then.

Parents want to include their children in their "former" lifestyles, what they don't realize is that some lifestyles are just not fit for children. With any life style you have to give up a good majority of the "fun and wild" part of it when you have kids. That means no more concerts and the like and if you do attend some at the very least hire a babysitter or ask a relative to watch the child. It's the least they can do for the child's health instead of dragging them all over hell and creation. Your story was fabulous, and I'm so happy he called them on their [censored]! Way to go Mr. Rollins!

That couple got just what they deserved. Sounds like Mr. Rollins had a bit of common sense, something that is sorely lacking in a lot of parents today.

I know of Henry Rollins. I'm one of the few probably who does remember him. I always thought he was a bit intense-looking, but he has a great voice in my opinion. I bet it was cool to see him live. smile

Go Mr. Rollins. It's just like a story I saw on the news about a mom who was just so offended because she was told to get off a bus when her baby started making a huge fuss and was disturbing and annoying the other passengers. Both the mothers that it happened to were outraged and even the newscasters seemed upsetted by it. Meanwhile, I was cheering the bus drivers on. How long does the rest of society have to suffer because parents can't control their children in public?

There are places where I live that you can't even say certain things because it'll Offend someone else. In schools, children can't say "one nation under God" in the pledge of allegiance, but if you're sitting in a restaurant a mother can whip out her boobs to feed her screaming kid. What ever happened to bottle feeding or staying at home during a child's feeding time? I applaud people who have the presence and ability to affect change like Mr. Rollins, because regular people like me are expected to just tolerate it or we're horrible mean people who hate little children.

I wish more people would realize this and put more thought and consideration into what must be sacrificed even before they have children. I have been seeing that over the years more people think they can bring their kids to adult events and think it's acceptable. They say I'm not going to let a baby slow me down. Maybe in some cases it should. I wish more people would call out stupid parents who think that way. Sometimes I wish we could go back to the times when children should be seen and not heard or not seen at all in certain venues.

Considering the fact that the majority of the time the stupid parents who need to be called out are people I don't know and will never see again, I have no problems calling them out if it's really bad. Especially if someone's safety is at risk.

Most recent escapade: White-trash momma and child (momma in jammies, child in diaper) at Wal-Mart. Child pouring bottle of water onto the floor as they are walking, momma ignoring it. I go up to jammie-momma and say "Hey, your kids is dripping water all over the floor and someone's going to slip. Please clean it up." I got a dirty look but totally didn't care. It got cleaned up and I can only assume it spared someone a fall.

Kudos to the OP for a great and inspiring story!
