I'm in the process of stretching the holes in my ear lobes. Right now, I'm at 8 gauge and I'm thinking of stretching them to 4 or maybe 2. I really want to wear tunnels with steel cbr's in them.
My question is, once stretched, are the holes permanently and forever the gauge they are stretched to. I don't mind if it is permanent, I just want to know what I'm getting into before I expand.
I realize this isn't a high traffic board, so I appreciate your responces. Thanks, Rae.

Ears can be curious and will vary from person to person. How fast they stretch, and how permanent the sizing is can't be predicted. My own ears continued to tighten up for well over a decade if I took the jewelry out for even a few hours. That finally stopped when I decided I wanted to size them up a bit more, but that was just my experience.

Some people find their ears stabilize at different sizes, and some never do.

When you first start stretching, the holes are anything but permanent. And most anecdotal evidence I have suggests it takes years and having gotten the holes stretched up to larger sizes before they do stabilize and maintain their openness.

The stretching would not be that easy but it is possible. The big holes will be permanent so might as well think about doing it.

Mine are currently 0g, and I took it out and it quickly shrank back to nearly a normal sized piercing, hence making me start the process again. I would say go very gentle with it, I know people that haven't and their lobes don't look as good as they could.

Kitty, not everyone's larger gauge piercings take or stay right when you first stretch them. I had larger piercings for over a decade before they stabilized and would stay when I took out the jewelry.
