Hi there ladies, I'm due early next year with my second son. My fiance and I are stumped between two names we absolutely love. Solomon or Lincoln. We don't usually like names like Lincoln, but it has just stuck with us. We are a Filipino/Canadian family. :) Thank you!

Solomon sounds like a Jewish name and Lincoln more American as in dear old Abe soo what are you closest too. Also how well does it go with the last name. Neither sounds Canadian.

Personally I prefer Solomon, but that's without any context (surname, older brother's name, etc.).

Our first son's name is Isaac, and we normally like biblical/old names..but Lincoln has just stuck like I said. Both names go with our last name.. Both are strong, masculine names..and that is what we've been looking for. A name that suits both a child and an adult. Thanks for your help ladies, I truly appreciate it.

I think that Lincoln is fine. For Solomon, your son would wind up being called Solly or Sol.

Coming from the UK, Lincoln first makes me think of the city Lincoln in England's East Midlands...

I too like the name Solomon.

This is what I did...

When my daughter was born (now divorced) but back then, I had maybe two names, Lauren & Ashley.

He wanted Maude. Not maddy - Maude.

I'm like...k - you think her name has to be one thing or another. Realize our child is going to have a personality COMPLETELY, separate from you and I.

Walking around life, how would you feel with a few of these names?

Lauren, Ashley, Maude...

Because until they develop their own identity, whatever feeling you have about it will to some extent have an effect. The world is a much bigger place than a couple of people's opinion of a dedicated name. They'll never feel it as much as you think they will because u do.

He wanted Maude confused No relation tie to that name either.

Solomon sounds nice. I think your fiance should also admit with this name.
