Hi folks,

I'm almost 2 weeks into cycling my new 10 gallon tank with a couple of comets (who I am going to donate to the Chinese classical garden in town when I'm done - they've got a HUGE pond with tons of goldfish and Koi).

Anyway, I'm impatient! I want the cycle to be done!

I visited the lfs by my work at lunch (getting to know them real well!). The guy who I normally chat with confirmed what I'd already heard, that Cycle by Hagen is basically bunk. I saw this other supposed cycling product called Nitrivec by Sera. Anyone here tried it? Can't seem to find anything about it online - except for lots of stuff in German. German is not a hobby I have yet taken up.....

The lfs dude said he and his wife used Nitrivec when they were setting up the shop, and they had less fish loss than they would in a normal month, with fully cycled tanks! Wow! He says they swear by it.

Anybody tried it?

I have never heard of it Jk...guess I won't be much help there..lol..

I would try and be patient with the cycling though. I know that's hard..lol..I have the same problem trying to wait to get a tank going. I think those who have the most success take it slow and do a lot of research.

You could give it a try and see what happens...then let us know how it goes <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Someone else here may have had experience with that product though...Mel?
