Hmmm Phyllis as Dr. Seuss's real name was Theodore Seuss Geisel, so there was definitely some German blood in there, the answer might even be yes because......................Easter is on its way, and all over Germany white eggs are being dyed first in vinegared water with turmeric and then over-dyed with a red cabbage mixture.
Have no idea why but this makes the egg a vibrant green which more often than not turns the white of the egg almost as green as the gleaming shell. Well at least it gleams once it has been polished with olive oil.

Such an interesting note, Francine. I will have to remember to polish my Easter eggs with olive oil. I love our family tradition of gathering the night before Easter to color eggs. Each year we try to see who creates the prettiest ones.

Oh....well that makes sense. What would that be called -- a Peep Slider?
I was thinking that if there were six Peeps at each end and they worked towards the middle, it would take them maybe one day to make a sandwich.
