OMG!!!

I've never tasted anything so goooooooood! The one I had was a soft chocolate cookie with peppermint filling.

I can't stop thinking about it ...

If I'm not mistaken, didn't the Whoppi Pie originate in Maine?

Dear Sharon -

I think that might be whoopie pie? I imagine I've had one or two in my childhood, but I can't even remember what they tasted like smile It sounds like you really enjoyed yours!

Interestingly while Wikipedia says it's a New England tradition I've lived here pretty much all my life and rarely if ever see them. Maybe they're more localized around Pennsylvania or New York?

Hmmmn, I should know this one, but I honestly don't know if it is considered a New England tradition or not. I can tell you that my own mother, as well as many others in our town regularly baked fresh whoopie pies for us when I was a kidand I still have the index card with her recipe on it. The filling was white cream though, and no other variations. Today, they are sold on the counters of many small village stores so they are still around in these parts.

I'm glad you enjoyed it smile

You're right Lisa it is a Whoopie Pie.

It's been almost two weeks and I'm still thinking about it.
