Technical Support is used in several different contexts in information technology - it can be the library scientist who is involved in determining how items should be cataloged, an entry-level job working at a call-center or help desk, a mid- to upper-level job in a Mainframe shop or operations center, etc. These are all good jobs if that is what interests you (or in some cases, if you are looking to break into the field in the case of the entry-level jobs).
