no you only have to have the weapon and not the sigil. works for me. i don't have wakka's weapon powered up and lulu's weapon neither.and ixion and ifrit break 9999. i do have (i believe)the sigil.the easiest of the sigil or crest.i think it's sigil though.so you don't have to power up you're ultimate weapon to let your aeons break 9999. (i think). If it doesn't ask me again and maybe i will have more info.

you don't need to power up the weapons FULLY... like above poster said, but i'm also unsure weather you need to power it up with crest or sigil but i think it is you need the weapon and the crest, and power up the crest, to make them break damage limit... but it's easier just to get em all while you'r at it <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I just meant without the sigil or the crest. Without either of them in would be the worst weapon ever. I didn't mean with the sigil or the crest, I meant without any of them! My Ixion is the only one who doesn't break damage limit, I have kimari's weapon, but I couldn't get his sigil, I have all weapons but I am missing sigils for Tidus, Lulu, and Kimari, but I have customized break damage limit weapons for EVERYONE, but Ixion is the ONLY aeon who doesn't do 99,999 <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> .
