I enjoy any and all blog post comments where women and some men ask me really great fitness questions. I live for answering and helping these people.

but I CAN NOT stand it when some random person (always some rude guy) posts something on one of my C2 pages (that is what SBI calls pages that act like blog posts) and they just start criticizing what I'm doing or how I'm doing it or what I chose to call the exercise or the workout or they feel they have to be confrontational.

It's never the women that do this and my site is mainly for women. Why do men feel the need to be right or be better. I am almost certain that very overweight bloggers who are struggling to get the weight off or those ultra fit competitor looking fitness bloggers don't get half the grief that normal people like me get.

I usually ban these morons from my site. I just don't get why they feel the need to bother with some average woman like me. If I had nothing nice to say on somebody's blog I would just leave.

That is the side of the blogging that people don't think much about. Negative comments and/or harrassment.

Some people are like that. I don't know why they need to be negative. I'd allow a negative comment if it was respectable and not just a rant or personal attack.

I just wrote about Blog Commenting Etiquette. People should not expect that their blog comments will get published. As I put it, commenting is a privilege not a right.

This really annoys me. It is one of the reasons I have to force myself not to read Youtube comments --- they are horrendous across the board usually burying all the good comments. I swear there is a fraction of people who have made it their mission in life to spread negativity and lurid comments.

OMGosh I LOATHE YouTube comments! They're always laced with profanity anyway. I maintain a (fairly) popular blog re: my husband's chronic illness and I just received my first hateful message last week. First one in nearly two years! In fact, I didn't even moderate the comments because they've always been awesome.

The thing that gets me is that they're typically anonymous hateful comments, too; and they tend to end up personally attacking you.

Sigh. Ignorant.

Rayna, OMGosh is right about comments on YouTube. It is disappointing what all those trolls have done to that site. Many users don't even allow comments now which is a shame as it is a great place to build community.
