It breaks my heart when someone can't understand why his or her mate decided to leave the marriage. Here is my take on this sad situation:

Why Husbands Leave Their Wives

And by the way, it's the same reason why wives leave their husbands, too, Tell me what you think.

Briliant article Lori -

And...gosh you want more.

It's everything I've found to be true speaking with people. It's like words they can't say or feelings they can't put into words maybe is a more appropiate description.

Basically, a partner, when you're in it on a one on one basis, dedicated to just 1 other person, that person can't help but become a reflection of how you see yourself.

They can make you feel important, sexy, brilliant, inspirational, beautiful, a confidant or...

They can reflect something of a lesser nature and that can be hard to live with.

I guess most times we look at what's overt but not what lies within. I've never though of 'how a man feels about himself' when he's around his spouse/partner as a reason to leave her.

In any case, I always believe communication is important although it may not hinder a break-up, at least you could tell how the other feels.

I think they/we withdraw, as Lori mentions both men and women face these challenges, when our other half is critical or uninterested. You can either leave and go to a more stimulating atmosphere or focus more on yourself working on challenges you'd like to see yourself achieve.

When we make those challenges, you naturally feel good about something NEW you've accomplished.

There used to be a saying like, if each half gives to the relationship 150%, those times when they're not able to keep their end of the bargain up, there's an extra 100% to keep them going strong wink

Great article Lori.

So many couples think that they don't have to "give" anything to the marriage - because you know, on the wedding day it was all good??? Right???

Ugh!
