Good ideas, Donna. I had that "disjointed" feel from my kitchen to the living room. Kitchen is very blue because of the floor I'm stuck with (but I'm not a big blue fan). I found some blue piece, including painting a hutch a dark blue. It's starting to look like I planned this all. So it doesn't take much to pull to disjointed rooms together.

Hi Kassie, thanks for sharing! It can be tough when you're stuck with a color/elements you don't particularly like. Glad you found ways to make it work. smile

Hi Red Carpet Dresses, Thanks for reading my article. Sometimes I feel that way in my own home and know it's time for re-arranging.

The living area, dining area and eat in kitchen of my new home are all very open.

I knew that I didn't want all of the walls the same color so I used the colors in my oriental rug to tie them all together. Without this inspiration piece, I'm afraid I would have made a mess of things.

The walls in the foyer are dark red, the main living area is a neutral stone gray, the kitchen a soft mossy gray-green and the dining room is mustard yellow.

All of the rooms have white wooden ceiling and floor molding that makes it all (as you say) flow.

Hi msbaby! I love the color scheme of your home! Reminds me of a French Country or Tuscan style. I like to use rugs/paintings/fabric to tie rooms together, too. Thanks for sharing!
