What is the one thing you wish other people understood about domestic violence?
For me, it's that there is no way to rationally deal with the abuser. They don't think like other people and it's very hard to accept that.
That its not always easy to stop loving that person even after they have terrorized you.
That even we dont know what really makes us stay and why we cant seem to leave even when we know better.
So many more things to add.
Re-creating the power of self they took of their own purpose.
In the midst of it all, feeling like you have none, having the faith, at the same time, to understand that you do and separating what you had once hoped for, against a dark shadow of a human being.
