I know that some types of magnesium causes problems, like diarreah. What are the good ones. I don't mean the brand, but the accual name of it... for instance magnesium oxide.

The quick answer is that magnesium is vital to our health and is best in a natural form. Most people who regularly eat deep green vegetables or chocolate receive at least the minimum requirements for magnesium. I would suggest that those who are thinking about taking a high dose magnesium supplement talk it over with their doctor to see if indeed they do require more magnesium. This should insure that they don't encounter any other medical problems like diarrhea later on.

I have heard that Magnesium needs to be taken with Calcium too. The body needs a certain portion of each to work efficiently. Look for something that contains both, without also overloading your body on a bunch of other vitamins that it does not need. Excessive vitamins are not good for you either. Also drinking distilled or revers osmosis water is very unhealthy, as those two kinds of waters do not contain essential minerals for your body.
