Thanks for another great article Jori.
I'm on the AM & CMT Global Day (Sept 24) Committee and wanted to share with your readers some of the many ways to celebrate Awareness Month and this international day.
Simply writing a letter to friends/family telling them about CMT and the challenges you face.
Posting CMT-related messages to family and friends on Facebook and/or substituting the CMTA awareness poster picture for your profile picture on Facebook/Twitter and other social networking sites.
Displaying CMT fact sheets, brochures and newsletters at libraries, pharmacies, schools, physician offices, and hospitals.
Sending a press release to your local papers and organizing interviews with the media, Public Service Announcement for radio or write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper.
Creating a database of physicians with CMT expertise.
Contact government representatives seeking a proclamation/resolution proclaiming September 2011 as CMT Awareness Month.
Filming videos that show how CMT effects you or family members to post on YouTube and the CMTA website.
Displaying posters or launching balloons as awareness raising media.
As new information becomes available to us regarding events and activities taking place across the U.S. and around the world, we will be updating this information on our web site at www.cmtausa.org.
Please post all your ideas and activities on the CMTA website, under the Global CMTA Support and Action Group section of our website.
