Many wineries have their own restaurants and some restaurants have their own vineyard. I came across this one last week and stopped the car to take photographs.

This newly opened restaurant in the southern outskirts of Bordeaux has its own vineyard planted over the small plot of land surrounding it. Neatly tended vine rows go right to the restaurants walls and outside seating area. There are rose bushes at the end of rows along access roads.

The decor inside has a wine theme. One wall is covered with blow-ups of barrel photographs; this wall has corks while lamp-shades recall wine barrels under construction.

However the restaurant doesnt sell wine.

Have you guessed its identity?
It is a branch of a chain famous for its meat products...

Gosh Peter, Now that is something special and really worth seeing, thanks for posting it. Wow.

It fits perfectly to the wine growing area, but whoever designed it certainly was thinking out of the box. Nothing like that in Burgundy, where I am also surrounded by vineyards at the moment, have only seen one McDonalds on my travels and it looked like.A McDonalds.

Would have been tempted to go in and see if the food in your beautiful Bordeaux one tasted as good as the whole setting looks, and havent set foot in a McDonalds for at least fifteen years.

In Burgundy they do plant vines in some really attractive and unusual traffic islands, not sure what any wine would taste like after being covered in exhaust fumes all season.which is a point, wonder if they do use the grapes. Hmmm.
