Indian classical music takes pride in several unique musical instruments of which the Sitar is best known. The twangy notes of the Sitar began attracting global audience in the 60's and has maintained its place in world music since then. Here are some interesting facts about the Indian Sitar.

Hi Lisa!

I am glad you enjoyed reading about the Indian Sitar. I was surprised about the base being made of pumpkin too. Except for the strings, the entire instrument is made out of natural products. Maybe that's the secret of the twangy notes!
