Back when the XBox 360 and the PS3 were first launching, they had to make a decision - Blu Ray or HD-DVD? Microsoft gambled on HD-DVD and lost. Will they ever come around to supporting Blu Ray?

About 4 years ago I had to make a decision on how to accessorize my home theater. So what I did was choose an xbox360 and the PS3. I specifically got the PS3 just for the BLU-ray capability instead of buying a blu-ray player, which at the time were about the same price but with no gaming capability. Over the past few years I can see that I have used the PS3 100 times more than the xbox360, but I'm still glad that I got the xbox360 for playing specific games.

Yup I would agree completely Cushion. I have both units and I use both of them, but we use the PS3 far more. Still I wouldn't want to be without the XBox 360 because there are games we enjoy on that.

Microsoft has been denying rumors of a potential Blu-ray player for the Xbox 360 console for the past year and a half or so. It really hasn't been that big of a surprise, since including a Blu-ray player in the console would potentially undermine one of their Xbox Live business models (movie rentals).
