My dear son (11) decided the fish looked hungry, so he dumped fish pellets into the aquarium -- sadly there was so much it coated the entire bottom of the 75 gallon tank and turned the water a putrid orange.
He didn't tell anyone how much food he put in until our younger son (7) said that Flounder looked really sick, he was just laying on the bottom of the tank. He and MamaFish were 2 of our original fish and were 4 years old.
When I went to check, Flounder was already in the big fishbowl in the sky, as was MamaFish, and 3 other silver gray young fish. The 2 plecos were very happy, and 2 orange striped cichlids were alive.
We buried Flounder and MamaFish in an aloe vera plant, and the others in other plants. Our tank now looks very empty with only 2 fish, and 2 plecos.
