I'm the exact opposite. I avoid babies like the plague...and love the middle school/teenage years. THAT'S when things get interesting...where they start to have ideas and opinions about stuff (well, the smart ones, anyway). The best thing is I don't have to deal with their rebellious/angsty teenage [censored]...it's their parents' problem.

I'm with you on that! I'm not a big fan of babies or toddlers either. School age kids can be fun in small doses. I still wouldn't want to deal with them 24/7 though! :-)

Yep, give me the teenagers over babies any day! At least they can talk and wipe their own bums. well, most of them ;)

onthefence, you are NOT alone! Stay honest and true to yourself!! I just joined the forum today and WOW, the support and feeling that I'm not the only one is incredible. Thank you for writing that you get the "I want one" twinges when you hold a baby. I get that too, but as I say, I want to experience pregnancy (just for the experience and to be able to say I did it :)) but I don't want the parenting this. Someone else posted that you REALLY have to want one. I agree. It's a huge decision and not something to be taken lightly. And, if I can be so honest, someone else posted that their husband had said that there is nothing like the Buzz of having a baby,what with family and friends paying attention to you and your new "bundle of joy." ... that's where I am right now ... I have a ton of friends that are having kids and I kinda want some of that attention :)
