Aloe is wonderful for keeping the moisture of the skin. It works nice for hair as well, the best mixed with oil and left overnight. The bush type aloe grows fast and I find it more effective for skin and hair care. I have one huge plant at home and it fully serves my needs, including that I also use it in green smoothies.

Welcome Red Carpet Dresses - I see you are NEW smile Yes, growing your own plant has its advantages as I notice it is sometimes hard to find PURE aloe. It is like they have to add stuff to the container to preserve it.

Once hubby used this product supposedly good for thinning hair. Turned out the product burnt his scalp which started to itch. He didn't visit the doctor. Fortunately at the time, my sister grew some aloe vera. We took the juice and smear it on hubby's scalp. Next day, the redness was gone. No more stinging. And of course, no more use of that product.

I grow lots of aloe plants and use them for my skin. My birds love to sit on them and peck them too. An all round home medicine kit for humans and animals.
