Hi Deanna and everyone here,

I find I am spending more and more time outside on my little mountain, walking, reflecting, and praying. This is where I find my spiritual and emotional healing.

Do you have a place in Nature where you find healing?

I love the ocean, and am fortunate to live close enough to visit it often, and I find it so balancing. Water is considered a cleansing, balancing element in many healing systems, so that makes sense. For insight and power though, nothing beats the desert southwest, and that is a true love of mine. I love Zion National Park, Bryce National Park, and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon especially. I consider these my special 'heart-home', and often visit. It's interesting how different 'soul-types' feel connected to different types of natural places I find...

The desert here in my area is a very peaceful, spiritual place. I love to sit out there on a large rock and watch the little animals play. The squirrels are very curious and come close to see if I have any peanuts for them. I always take out a bag of unsalted peanuts in the shell to share with my little friends.

In all the years I have been here, I have only twice seen a live rattlesnake. I give them a lot of room, but, I cannot go on without stopping long enough to admire their beauty.

There are several types of hawks here, Golden Eagles, sometimes a Bald Eagle, Quail, and many other birds.

Very spiritual and healing.

Phyllis, I love to go to the mountains where I lived as a kid. Luckily, they are only an hour away laugh

I live in a pretty busy area - though it's not nearly as intense as someplace like Los Angeles Thank goodness laugh

I love the beach too.... it's just that traffic is so crazy, I don't like to venture that way too often.

best spiritual place is defintly the desert... even the old prophets new about it... :-) in the desert, the real desert you are reduced to yourself... if you cant hear anything...because there is nothing more to hear... you can hear your innervoice, your heart and your soul... if you are reduced to yourself..this is the point where real healing starts... :-)

Hi Numerology4U laugh And welcome to the forums.

I agree - the desert is an amazing place - but the heat drives me nuts LOL. But night time on the desert, with all the stars; there is nothing more magical.

Yes Phyllis,

I have a hill, rather than a mountain, behind my house, where there is a wood and a magnificent view of the surrounding country side.

I love to walk about on the hill with my dogs, admiring the work of the Creator and enjoying the peacefulness of the place. It is just such a shame that everyone else who uses this hill also leaves a little reminder of themselves behind, tin cans, food wrappers etc, but that can be made less irritating by the first sight of a wild pink orchid peeking out of the grass or a duck sunbathing.

That sounds wonderful, Linda. On my little mountain, few people set foot on it because there is no direct access to the hiking trail high above. They have to go several blocks one way or the other to reach the trail head. So, I always have it to myself.

At night, the desert is so quiet. I hear Brother Coyote sometimes off in the distance. I sit on my patio where it is safe, listen to the crickets and frogs (yes, we have those here in the desert, with a creek nearby), and watch the stars.

When I had a car, I used to drive far out in the desert where there were no city lights. I would sit in my car on a hill above a desert lake and just listen to the silence. It was so silent I could sometimes hear the past, when the Native American Paiute tribe lived there.

The silence and the unobstructed view of the night sky is profound.

Reading that Phyllis gave me goose bumps on my arms. I live in a area with many lights on at night so I never really get to see the true wonder of the sky. And it is most certainly never quiet. It must be lovely having your very own mountain! And plenty of frogs! yummy so the French say!
