Hello Everyone,

I love poetry and came across this poem in a book I bought recently. It's by anonymous - no one knows who wrote it. It comes from a book of poetry called Forever and Anon (ISBN 978-1-906217 11-2).

I would say the ideas and feelings will give succour to all who need some right now.

If you like it and would like another poem, I will post that one too. It's called 'A Child Loaned.' Also very lovely. Just let me know on this forum, I will check back.

She is gone. He has gone.

You can shed tears because she is gone
or you can smile because she has lived.

You can close your eyes and pray that he'll come back,
or you can open your eyes and see all he's left.

Your heart can be empty because you can't see her,
or you can be full of the love you shared.

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
or you can be happy tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember him and only that he's gone
or you can cherish his memory and let it live on.

You can cry and close your mind, be empty
and turn your back
or you can do what she'd want: smile, open your eyes,
love and go on.

A poem to the child we lose.
