I am incredibly grateful everyday for my phenomenal mother. This year I am focusing on the gift of time together to come up with a nice Mother's Day gift for her.

What are some of your ideas for Mother's Day gifts?

Thanks for the reminder. As my mother is elderly, it is harder and harder to get her something nice. Memories are the best. One year, I wrote down little stories about all the memories I have of her. She just loved that.

Hi Meredith, you are doing what my "princess" and I do - sad to share, I don't have any contact with my mom due to issues she refuses to let go off. Glad to see other folks doing the same. Good for you smile

I love the idea of writing down memories. I've also made a scrapbook for my mother in the past. She also really enjoys pampering/relaxing so I am thinking of making some homemade natural products for her such as herbal bath bags and homemade bath fizzies.

With cash being short for a lot of folks, I think we are finally focusing on what is important - time with loved ones smile

Wonderful and endearing article, Meredith -- thank you for the thoughts and suggestions. They are timeless.

My mother is 88. My sister's and I got together for Mom's birthday in March and gave her a "Day of Beauty". We all three spent the whole day with her and each did something special for her (nails, etc.) Then we cooked dinner for her and set lovely flowers on the table. After dinner, we each made a posie from the flowers to keep as a memory. Brother joined us for dinner and brought dessert.

I think we will do the same for Mother's Day or take her out to one of her favorite parks for a picnic. She loves Nature and watching the deer.

I so agree with Angela's thoughts:

My suggestion is that if you want to send your mum a nice Mother's Day gift, silk scarf is the best choice. I just bought a CORIEE silk scarf for my mum...It's nice.

It is a great pleasure to hold beautiful card addressed to you especially with warm handwritten words! It is amazing, but in our digital community we can make handwritten cards sending process partly digital to save time, money with achieving the best result as well. Use ThankYouPen art iPhone application which sends hand-written letters and greeting cards directly from iOS devices.
