Gas here is at $3.99 in my part of Massachusetts, I think no gas station wants to be the first one to break the $4 barrier.

Does anyone have $4 gas yet?

Is that $4 for a gallon Lisa? The average price through Europe is around Euro 1.600 for a litre, which is roughly $2.40, and there are just under four litres in one US gallon.

So if that is for a gallon, and my addition is not completely off, over here we are already at the $9 gallon....my, it does seem a little thought provoking to see it written down like that.

Saw $4.05 in metro-DC this morning, at a just-off-the-highway station.

I only buy premium so yeah it's been up there for a while now which is why I kicked my MWF noon client off my roster. It was costing a lot of time/money to drive there and I was just breaking even. What's the point of that!

In Australia it's been $5-$6 per gallon forever. We are spoiled in America. The good thing is filling up is killing my Starbucks habit!

Francine - yes a gallon - we were at $2.50 for a while smile

Still at $3.99 here. They're holding the line.

Monica - I'll start a separate thread on the premium question because it's an interesting one smile

It is $4.29 for regular here in northern Indiana. What gripes me is reading that the oil companies are making record high profits while mealy-mouthing about how high their expenses are. Yesterday I heard a financial expert say that we shouldn't mind spending so much for gas because we will get it back in high returns on our mutual fund investments. What mutual fund investments? I can't afford any!

Yesterday morning, gas was still $3.99 for regular here in Beattyville, KY.

$4.56- $4.65 yesterday in Chicago

The burbs are taking a hit as well. I paid about $4.52. Diesel is now cheaper than regular gas.

Just an update after the weekend. Have a western DC-metro station running at $4.39. May not be as high as other places but it's hitting everywhere.

Some months ago in the clairvoyance forum I said I felt gas would go above $5.00 or real close to it. I'm in the central states area though.

I still feel it's concerning regardless of what's in the news. It feels more like placations? Getting ready for elections and such. As we get closer it's like there's more words, but they're more empty promises.

For me I've never been without a car since I could drive but for this last year or so and nothing yet makes me want to get out there and see what I can do about getting one.

I know people have to have one but for right now I'm doing everything I can to either share a ride, taxi it or transit.

Gas here in Beattyville, Kentucky actually went down. When I drove into school yesterday morning, it was $3.89 instead of $3.99.

Malone NY, Price is $4.39 as of 5/11/11
My hubby and I moved to a tiny cabin in the woods just a bit south of there- only 12 miles away, but even so, we only head into the "big city" of Malone about once a week for groceries.

After the unexpected drop of gas to $3.89 a gallon, the price shot up yesterday to $4.05 a gallon. I'm ready for another mysterious drop.

Most southern states have cheaper gas price (except FL). I guess it's a location thing, we're closer to the refineries. I'm about to head out for some errands so I don't know what the prices are today. However they have been dropping. We were up to $3.98/gal for regular and yesterday it was $3.57.

Adding insult to injury, GA increased state fuel tax by 3 cents this month. Gotta love their timing, or NOT!

Mystery drop indeed. Shortly after I posted last time prices went down and then went down again. I'm driving less so I only need to fill up every 10 days or so.

Gas prices are 4.45 a gallon in Malone NY as of yesterday afternoon. We live 11 miles away from the nearest gas station, and on a limited senior's income, making ends meet is not easy.

Wow! I thought that the last place the price of gas went down was here in Beattyville. Gas here has dropped to $3.69 a gallon. Still too high for my liking, but better than it was.
