Most chocolate stouts are made with what they call chocolate malt - not really chocolate, but roasted so it imparts darker color and a chocolate profile to the beer. Some, however, do add chocolate or cocoa to their beer. Dock Street Brewery puts 22 pounds of chocolate in Dock Street Sexy Beast Chocolate Stout. Young's Double Chocolate Stout uses chocolate malt as well as dark chocolate.

Some people dig Russian Imperial Stouts or Belgian Dubbels served "with" a decadent chocolate dessert instead.

How do you see it?

That sounds really interesting. Never tried it but on first impression I lean more towards having a negative reaction to it. In the end I guess I will have to take the plunge for curiosity's sake.

I used to NOT think about chocolate and beer together until I tried Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout: http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/brooklyn-black-chocolate-stout/531/1/40/. It's rather strong in alcohol but the flavor is great. Rogue Brewery's Chocolate Stout: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/132/1118 is also delicious, with only 6% alcohol I think.

I think I'd like to try Duck Street. I imagine chocolate beer would be quite tasty!
