The other day, I told a friend, that I just received some great dried Polish mushrooms from my cousin in Poland, and my friend ask if I could get them some. She said, she can buy them in Chicago, around fifty some miles away, a hour drive at around 95 dollars a pound, but that was far to much. I told her, I would see, if I could find a way, to buy them in bulk, and sell her some. Do you think I can buy them direct from Poland, at a far less price, and sell them to others who have asked for them? There must be many other items, from Poland, that we can't get here in the USA or if we can, must pay a very high price. Can you give me some advise on this, could this work? Are there things that you think would go over? If I get a large number of things, and people who want them, may even open up a small store, and sell them at a fair price. What do you think on this, and what other items do you think I should look into?

Do you have a 'World Market' store in your area, Mike? Visiting one would give you some good ideas.

Also, I think you would have to be a licensed distributor to import food items and resell them. I am not sure about the laws on this, but it would be a good idea to check into it.

We don't have a World Market anywhere around us, that I know of.

I will check into the other soon, as I give this more thinking over.

What items do you think would sell?

There is a Polish cheese, that comes from southern Poland, I think it is Oseypek, and I know many of us here, would love to be able to get it, but can't.
I know there must be many more, but don't come to mind now.

Does anyone out there know if you can buy the true, Oseypek cheese from Poland, here in the USA? If yes, where, and who is the distruter of it, and where are they?

If you know, please let me know.
