I am relatively new to crochet - well, not really, I have only been making afghans and hats for years but recently been making tops and sweaters, but still on the easy side of crochet. I have been blocking the pieces BEFORE putting them together, but the patterns I've come across say that I should block the sweater after is has been completed. This sounds wrong to me. Does anyone have any opinion on this subject?

Hi merwyn Thanks for responding. I guess I wasn't clear. I'm looking for someone to explain to me the advantage of blocking AFTER putting the pieces together (of say a sweater) rather than BEFORE. It just makes sense to block before, when your pieces are flat, cuz after you put them together, they are three-dimentional, and I can't see blocking properly that way. Anyone?
