I am currently reading Mississippi to Africa by Melvin Collier. He tells how he traced his family lines and gives great resources along the way. As someone who does Genealogy, I feel his book not only helps African Americans but all ethnic groups as well.

But, whether you do family history or not, I think you would enjoy his story. Very inspiring.

Just finished "I'm Chocolate, You're Vanilla: Raising Healthy Black and Biracial Children in a Race Conscience World." It discusses how children develop an understanding of what it means to be African American and how parents can nurture a healthy self-image. I really enjoyed it.

I did not read any great books a long time.
