I had been told when I first started reading to say a prayer before I started and ask that only good comes through, and to state that negativity is not allowed near you or the cards.

That's what I've done too Karen. When I first started reading tarot, I'd always get answers that made no sense.

When I got into holistic healing I learned about grounding and prayer before working on a client. I noticed that it really cleared the energies for me... so I started doing that with the tarot and the readings changed.

I don't read for myself now terribly often because I really LOVE to have an expectation LOL!!! I like to draw a card for the day though!

Lol Deanna, there is nothing wrong with that. The card of the day is wonderful. I picked a card the other day and had two meanings come to mind, I thought to myself now which one is it, It was both, Had some good parts of the day and not so good parts but it was all good at the end of the day.

For those of you that didn't read the prayers I say that I posted on another site, I will type them here.

First I say the Lord's Prayer (Our Father who art in heaven...) then I say another prayer that goes like this... The Light of God surrounds me, the Love of God enfolds me, the Power of God Protects me, where ever I am God is always with me.

Then I ask the guardians of the four corners come down and protect me and my surroundings.

Hi there :) I'm new here, just joined today...I've been looking for a place to talk about tarot cards with people! I don't really know anyone who's into it and I want some people to talk about it with! I just started getting into them back in January, so I'm a newbie at this whole thing lol. But the very first reading I ever did was on myself and it was really accurate...it was kind of crazy. But it really gave me....peace of mind. It just kind of confirmed what I already knew, and really made me feel better about my situation as a whole and gave me confidence in believing I was on the right path on my life at the moment.

Thank you! I do have a question actually about tarot cards in general/a reading that I did on myself. I don't really understand the concept of reversed cards and what they mean...do they just mean the opposite of what the actual card is saying? In a reading I just recently did, I had four pentacles cards, and all four of them were reversed, and they were the only ones in my reading that WERE reversed, and I was wondering if this had any important significance? Or would you need to know the exact cards and question? Let me know and I can tell you. Thank you! :)

I will need to know the cards in all positions as they relate to each other. You can email me with your reading. Most reversals are the opposite meaning but you have to look at the surrounding cards to determine the actual meaning. Reversals are usually negative or a lesser of the upright meaning.
