What did your Mum used to do in the kitchen that you wouldn't dream of? Maybe a mistake or maybe just a fashion that has changed? A food she gave you as a kid or a funny technique?

She was a great cook, but she always wanted to make sure that the pork was completely cooked. It wound up being incinerated! She made crispy, tough, tasteless pork chops and steaks.

I cook mine in a little water until it is done. Then, I brown it in its natural juices. It's done and succulent.

My mom luckily was a good cook so we generally enjoyed the food she made. In fact one dish we would pick on - eggplant pizza - is now a favorite of mine smile
