Androgenic alopecia, male baldness, is mainly genetic. This is not to be confused with alopecia areata which causes patches of hair loss or alopecia totalis which involved total hair loss on the head or alopecia universalis where all the hair on the body is lost. Nothing much can be done once hair is lost. There are lots of products on the market that claim to restore hair loss but not many of them actually work.
