Does anyone know a good place online to purchase vintage flapper dresses? (you know, original dresses from the 1920's?)

Mmmm not off the top of my head. I had a flapper party to go to last year and though they arent vintage there were quite a few cheapy stores that were selling them and i managed to get a great look alike dress for only $20. thats the great thing about things coming back into fashion. When i say cheapy stores they were current womens stores like supre and valleygirl. I did a quick google search for you though and found this site unique-vintage.com/flapper-dresses-c-31.html But if its actual vintage ones ur after from the 20s you might have to visit some second hand stores or antique stores. :)

Yes, I also found that unique-vintage site, and I found a couple other sites.
The original vintage dresses I saw were more expensive than I had hoped. But I've fallen in love with that flapper era and I think it would be great to own an original dress from that time.

Maybe somebody out there has an old flapper dress from great grandma that they might want to sell to me???

Why don't you make one? Buy a little black shift dress (or even the one you are wearing in your profile photo) and sew lots of layers of fringe on to it.

I'm afraid that sewing is not one of my talents... plus I want an original dress from the 1920's.

Fortunately, I've found a local vintage clothing store that has a number of 1920's flapper-type dresses, some for under $300. The store, in Chicago, is called Silver Moon, at silvermoonvintage.com. I'm definitely going to buy a dress from them after the store owner sends me some pictures to choose from. I can't wait!!!

I'm getting a genuine 1920's pink flapper dress, drenched in beautiful beads, for $400, from silvermoonvintage.com. If you are interested in gorgeous vintage clothes, please check them out! smile
