He called me "broad" last night, while he was talking to his brother over the phone. On anther occasion, while his brother was visiting, he called me a b*tch. I've tried having civilized, face-to-face talk with him about this, but he shrugs it off, or even BLAMES THE WHOLE THING ON ME.
How do I make him stop? It really hurts, and I can't seem to get through to him how BAD it feels to be called something awful by the person that you love the most.

And is this only around his brother? And what reasons does he give you for blaming it on you?

He could be holding a grudge over something.

It is really sad to hear such kind of things that happens in front of us. But believe me it's even worse if someone says the same thing behind your back. I think it happens with all of us some times or the other. You can't just help it out. Even you might sometimes said something to someone in front of everyone.(Forgive me if I am wrong.) but the point here is the disappointment that you are facing. First of all you should stop discussing the matter and finish it off as soon as possible otherwise the things will become more complicated and miserable and it I am afraid that it should not end up at anything unfavorable. Instead Try to find out the problem that your hubby might be facing, may be he has some problem so he behaves in this manner. May be this works, and If the things don't stop take help of someone who is near to your hubby and can explain him politely.

I would just repeat, "It offends me to be called that." every time he does it, then leave the room.
