Hi guys, I had a really nice Christmas - so that was good. Then boxing day night it seemed to hit me that the little bubble was going to burst and things were going back to normal - so I went a bit down again.
I'm still trying (going on for the 7th month now) to sort out things with my mental health - anxiety. So I'm just praying it'll come to an end soon, I had no idea it would be lasting this long - how foolish of me.
I've been probably overeating at least lol because of Xmas.

Jill, I hope everything's going okay for you - it's difficult isn't it? I feel like I want to stick a band aid on my head LOL.

Steve, things are better this week. My meds seem to be settling in and helping.

Glad you had a nice xmas!

DO you have an anti-anxiety med? I was given a new med for the anxiety this year and it seems to be helping.

I've been looking online and I'm going job searching tommorow, or one day this week. Jobs are hard to find though ATM - my friend took around 100 CV's to different stores and he didn't get one reply!
Plus, I had three interviews and not one reply - they didn't even write to tell me I didn't get the job, which I just thought was so rude. Hopefully something will turn up though as I feel like I'm not doing enough with my time ATM.

Yes I am getting fed up with sending off job applications and no one even bothers to say 'thanks, but no thanks'. I can handle rejection, it's the fact that they don't even bother to acknowledge me at all that is annoying!

What is the point of having on line applications when they don't even bother to say 'thanks for applying' just as a courtesy to let us know they received it?

Employers seem to think it is unnecessary to respond to an email. I think it is just rude! After all I took the time to apply, even if I didn't really want their lousy underpaid job!

Sorry ranting!

LOL - I agree Linda. I've gone to interviews and not even had a phone-call or letter, or anything saying "sorry you didn't get the job" or whatever.
It's just manners, society seems to be losing them way too much of late. It only takes a few minutes to contact someone and let them know.

I would suggest gently that if someone is distributing 100 resumes and doesn't get any message back that they might want a professional to review their resume. I've seen some resumes that do not do the best job of selling the person. A professional review of it can have amazing results!

When you hit a challenge, it's always a good idea to see what you can learn from it and do something different.

For example, a friend of mine's daughter went for a series of interviews and then was turned down. The friend started griping that "nobody hires females! They didn't hire her because she's female!" I decided to google the daughter's name. There are almost-porn photos of her all over the web, and the daughter was interviewing at a conservative bank. Maybe that had something to do with the issue?

Always look at a challenge from all angles. See what you can tweak and learn to move forward!

So start fresh. Accept that jobs don't respond if it's not a good fit. That's fine!! You only care about the jobs that ARE a good fit - so how do we help you find them? How do we make sure you have the best resume to be considered for them?

I am really touched with you list of doing, and I must learn from you , because that a goal in the list is really important for a people and just like a person's life goal, and after setting a goal ,we must hold into it and take action

Thanks everyone smile

Lisa - I agree, I think perhaps there was something very wrong with the resume, or perhaps he was exaggerating exacyly how many he gave out. I've done training in writing them, and I think mine is quite good. A friend gave me a few tips as well, because as she said - you can have all the education in the world, but a lot of employees want experience firstly.

I'm going to go through my own resume again and fine tune it before trying again next week - and trying properly, maybe talking to the managers of the places and trying to get remembered for being nice and confident.

The main thing I have to do is keep reminding myself that I'm able to do these things. I think I've become a bit insecure over the last few years and lost my confidence. So I need to turn that around.
