Hi Tuculia,

I always read your articles with interest because even thought I don't have daughters, my sisters do and I am one!

I don't really have one particular woman that I admire or would consider a role model. I think all of us are inspirational, even those who mess up in life.

My quote: A daughter is a little girl who eventually grows up.

Thanks for reminding me I'm a girl Tuculia, living with males I tend to forget sometimes.

Who is your female inspiration? Apart from Lisa and Ellen DeGeneres!

Hey Linda,

All of the editiors within Bellaonline. They all are changing the world by trying to make a difference in different peoples lives. The opportunity was given to me to make a difference in other people, but then I went and visited all of the other sites within our community and realized how each of the other editors are making a difference in other lives. That alone is a great inspiration to me. Thanks for stopping by!

There are so many women that have inspired me, I doubt if I could even name them all. However, Lisa Shea saved one of the most important, if not the most inspirational site on the Internet. I started with BellaOnline before Lisa bought the site; she did not only save BellaOnline but brought it to the greatness it is today. Each and every editor contributes her or his unique perspective and talent to the site. If I had to choose just one url, and it was the only site I was allowed to use, I would choose BellaOnline, hands down.

I'm so gratified to hear about the history of BellaOnline. It is an honor to work for and with Lisa. She has a tremendous heart.

As for other women who inspire me, I'd say...

1. My daughter. She is a wise old soul in a young body. The yin to my yang. She helps balance me by providing calm perspective. One of life's delightful puzzles, she is divine dichotomy manifested. She is facing death with a spiritual resolve and peaceful understanding. I love her so much.
2. Mother Teresa. I am not Catholic, but this woman has always inspired me with her unconditional love--a true example of Christ-like love in action.
3. Little Ruby Bridges. A brave little girl with more courage than the hateful, cowardly adults of her time.
4. Daughters everywhere who endure, survive and triumph over abuse suffered during childhood. I personally know women who chose to become loving, giving and non-violent although they were raised in horrific home environments.
5. Women who sacrificed the joys of marriage and motherhood to provide great service to all womankind. They bucked social pressure to hack out the obstacles so others could live better! Dorothea Dix comes to mind (she pioneered better care for the mentally ill).

Hi Tuculia,

I love the line you wrote: Daughters are, loving, courageous, lively, brave, inspiring, happy, confident, wise, intellectual, witty, and spirited. Great insightful article!

And like Lori, I was inspired by the things Diana said about Lisa Shea and BellaOnline. Lisa really is inspirational, and I've found that she is always willing to help! I've found that to be true of the other editors here. As you said, they are making a difference and speaking truth everyday.
