Hi Everyone:

What do you think are good "income sources" while unemployed?

Some folks have resorted to collecting soda cans.

Some borrow from family as you know the banks are not about to loan any cash to an unemployed person.

Some have started their own business in spite of no money.

Come on, share, let us know your thoughts smile

I may have mentioned this somewhere else... In the UK LETS (Local Exchange Trading Schemes) have allowed people to exchange skills/talents, often through use of a local exchange "currency" which is not financial. Directories of members are produced, so people can see skills others have to offer. You do not have to give something back to the person you get it from, so you walk someone's dog and get a credit, they give someone a lift and get a credit, you have someone housesit and get credit etc. Needs good administration but such schemes can work well, particularly when people with a wide range of skills are involved. Whilst this is not a direct income source in terms of money I think skills sharing is a great way of lightening burdens, sharing loads and appreciating peoples unique gifts.

There are storefronts called "I Sold It on Ebay" across the United States.

You can find a link to the 'I Sold it on ebay' stores nationwide by using a search engine.

I have oodles of things I have been contemplating loading into my car and bringing to an "I Sold it on ebay" store. They will do all the work for you and in exchange they take a 30% commission. Minimum value of item(s) has to be $30 or it does not pay for them to list it, pack and ship it. Please refer to the link posted above for all the particulars involved. If the item does not sell on ebay auction after a 7 day showing - then you can either pick it up at the store within 10 days or they will donate to charity.

I'm not unemployed but I do things on the side for extra money. I do a lot of things online including surveys. My favorite is Pinecone research. To me they are the best survey site because they pay cash unlike other survey sites that only give points to redeem for things or entries in sweepstakes.

I also do get paid to sites. These sites pay you to do things like try products, shop, do surveys, read emails, write, post to message boards, you can even get paid to tweet.

I also do flea markets and have yard sales.
