I've had fish in my aquarium for about a week. I have three angelfish. I noticed a few days ago that there was this strange cloudy stuff that looked kind of slimy or fuzzy growing on the plant and decoration I had in the tank. The water also looked cloudy for having support fish for only a week especially since I have a good filter. I had my water tested before I got my fish and the guy said it was exactly right for fish.

But tonight when I went to feed them, I noticed the slime type stuff was growing where the longest fin on the belly of one of my fish used to be. The long part of it was no longer there. This fish also had white spots. I know that the white spots are associated with Ick, but what about the cloudy slime type stuff? Does that occur with Ick or is it something else?

Please respond as soon as you can because I'm making a run to the pet store in a little bit and would like to sound like I semi-know what I'm talking about. Lol.

How big is the tank? Three angelfish are a lot to put in any size uncycled tank at the same time. The cloudiness of the water could be from a bacteria bloom. Bacteria blooms are completely normal and benign. The fuzzy slime stuff on the fish is probably a fungus. It could also be Ick if you have white spots that look like white heads. They probably got whatever it is from being stressed out in a non-cycled tank. When you add a lot of fish at one time, diseases are common. Also, angelfish are very sensitive fish and can be very difficult to take care of. I know that they are especially sensitive to pH changes, but are a delicate fish in general.
